Watchful Foundation is a nonprofit focused on helping people and organizations understand and respond to technology-driven deception.

Our current work is centered on scam prevention because scams are one of the clearest and most immediate ways these risks affect everyday life. Through education, alerts, research, and practical tools, we help people recognize threats earlier and respond with greater confidence.

But the problem is broader than scams alone. Artificial intelligence, synthetic media, automated systems, and increasingly convincing forms of impersonation are changing how people determine what is real, who can be trusted, and when information should be believed.

Watchful Foundation works to make these challenges more understandable and actionable, helping individuals, communities, and institutions navigate an increasingly complex digital environment.

Our Current Focus

Scam prevention is where Watchful’s work is most visible today. We provide presentations and training, publish alerts and briefings, and develop tools designed to help people recognize fraud and deception before harm occurs.

This work also gives us a real-world window into a larger problem: technology is making deception easier to create, personalize, and scale. What we learn through scam prevention informs Watchful’s broader research into digital trust, impersonation, verification, and emerging technology risks.
